Blogging and Web Design Resources

I started doing web design in the dark ages – the mid 1990’s (or the late 1900s if you will) to be exact. It was the Wild West back then.

I have created websites for online stores, event planners, blogs, non-profits, town governments, realtors, and more.

By far the easiest content management system is WordPress. You can get a WordPress site through WordPress itself however you will soon find that you continually need to upgrade your plan to use all of the features.

For the same price you can self-host your site. Currently I am using Orangehost.com. I found their rates reasonable, the customer service is excellent, and I have full control of my site (including full access to my cpanel and phpmyadmin).

For our homeschool co-op I have been teaching the big kids about website design and programming. Teach what you know right? I created this document to teach them (and their parents) about WordPress. Hope you like it!
